Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen for 2 x Craftsperson (Overhead Lines) based at our Stoke depot. 

In this role you will be required to undertake construction, maintenance, replacement and repair of overhead lines up to and including 33kV.

Candidates are required to have Grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level qualification in both subjects.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working on overhead cables or at height, however consideration will be given to those candidates who have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training.

You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team, making on the spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines. A flexible attitude is essential, as you will be required to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties.

Please note, where job roles involve working at height and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment, there are restrictions on the maximum weight of the individual.

* The successful candidate may initially be appointed on a salary of £29,016 until you have acquired all the necessary skills and qualifications required to undertake the role. If not already attained you will be required to study for the relevant City & Guilds qualification and complete TAR, which includes daily diary completion and a number of tasks and reports as required.
