Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen for 2 xCraftspersons (Fitting) for West Midlands Projects, based in Gloucester.

The Primary duties of the post will be to carry out maintence and project work on switching gear and plant at 33kv, 66kv and 132kv substations.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will ideally have substation experience. Consideration will be given to applicants who do not possess all the skills required to undertake the role at present but have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training. If not already attained, the successful candidate will be required to study for the relevant City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering and complete TAR – which includes daily diary page completion, and a number of tasks and reports as required.

You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team, making on the spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines. A flexible attitude is essential, as you will be required to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties.
