Job Introduction

n this role you will be required to provide front line operational support within the WPD Telecoms Network Management Centre, liaising with field based engineers, customers and contractors.

* Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed to a lower salary until all relevant training is complete

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertaking front line operational support from a 1st and 2nd line perspective within the NMC environment, in addition configuration of remote devices will also be carried out.
  • Manage your own working time to ensure jobs are completed in the most efficient manner
  • Working with contractors and when necessary witness acceptance tests
  • Working with colleagues and customers to ensure a continuity of service
  • Working safely and in accordance with agreed WPD procedures and techniques
  • Providing technical support to customers and where necessary liaise with colleagues to solve complex issues

The Ideal Candidate

Experience with Infinera, Cisco, Fortinet and Microwave equipment would be an advantage as would candidates with VHF and UHF radio knowledge.  You should be committed to providing outstanding customer service and have an ability to communicate well with both colleagues and customers.

Ideally you will be qualified to BTEC level or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering or have extensive relevant experience.
